Entertain u gals with two unforgetable incidents I experienced working as Customer Officer...
Incident 1
This lady called in and asked about networks in Indonesia. So I provided her with all the 3 networks available in Indonesia. Next she asked where she was calling from. What kind of question is that? I tot i heard wrong and asked her to repeat. She asked the same question, with an exasperated tone. I really couldn't understand what she was asking leh. I looked at my caller Id.. it's a local number mah.. so what was she asking? sensing something fishy, I consulted my computer and look for her call-in history. God!! She's the lady my team-mates were talking about. the lady who was trying to trace her daughter. We are not supposed to reveal such information de. and she had called in many times asking the same questions and of course was rejected everytime. Then I understood and ask her whether she wanted to trace the number she had given me. Bingo... so i said 'cannot' of course. then she put words in my mouth. she said, 'so the phone is still in indonesia.' i say, 'wat? i didn't say the phone was in indonesia? you were asking for network in indonesia, that's why i told you the 3 networks available in indonesia.' i think my voice was raising loh.. coz it's endless.. the lady keep saying, 'so the phone is still in indonesia.' i say, 'no, i am not able to trace the phone for you.' she demanded to talk to supervisor. so i put her on hold and turned to my supervisoru Maureen. she was besides me all along and could heard me raising my voice.. i said this lady kept insisting that the phone is in indonesia.. she is really crazy. Maureen took the call and talked to the lady.. can you guess what the lady ask? guess lah...she asked how to check the bonus balance of her handphone. Maureen answered the query and hung up.. we really went ..... is she one crazy nutcase or what??
Incident 2
This is the killer on my last day of work in 2005.. which is today.. make me work an extra 30 mins OT.. this OT I definitely will claim.
Another lady start this story rolling by calling in abt ard 11am and start the phone by complaining her friend can't receive her mms. She made a lot of noise like a whiny and went on and on abt the same thing, that she called in previously to set up her mms and ask what idiot or stupid server we are having that cannot send mms. her poor daughter had to wake up early in the morning to help her send sms, she kept whining that her friend cannot receive the mms. had been trying the whole morning by her friend couldn't receive mms. well, in this kind of situation, i can only act as a troubleshooter coz.. for god sake.. i can't see what that idiot lady is seeing and didn't know how she really stupidly send her mms. so i asked, did the mms send thru'. she told me yes, send thru', but her friend cannot receive. Now, be logical here.. cannot send mms, only two problem, sender or receiver. well.. she CLAIMED that she can send through. Logically, only left one option.. that is the receiver's end problem loh.. so i asked for the receiver's detail and checked... it turned out, from my system, the receiver is a Singtel mobile line cust and his line is not mms activated yet. the system tells the fact mah.. so i explain that her friend did not activate his mms and advise her to tell her friend to activate her mms loh.. logical rite? then the nightmare start at ard 5pm... note.. i knock off at 5.30pm... the idiot lady called back loh.. wah piang.. i expect hell from her loh.. coz she's so stupid.. anyway.. i brace myself and talk to her.. she talk as though I'm a idiot loh.. said her friend claim that he had no problem receiving mms before. i insisted that I am stating the fact from my system mah.. system said no mms so i have to say the same thing rite?? i say i can only investigate based on the information she had given me..so what to do, re-asked the questions loh.. so i asked her whether she can send the mms and whether any error message.. now this time she say got error message.. I think she's still too stupid to understand that she need to provide me with details in order for me to investigate... it's just imprinted in her that everything is the company's fault loh.. *faint* really wanna strangle her leh.. such an important lead and she's missing that out?? well.. she started to whine again... saying stuff like she dunno how to use her new handphone (like it's my problem), then she's an it idiot (IT diot can't read error message arhh...) that she had this photo in her computer. I nearly choked.. what photo in her computer? she's trying to send mms via computer.. i asked to confirm and i can hear her mumbling in the backgrd that I'm putting words in her mouth.. well, she's talking meaningless stuff mah... then thru' her whining, i managed to figure out that she took the photo on her computer with her hp and was trying to send the photo to her friend. she even used the f**king word in her sentence leh.. wah piang.. so uncivilised de.. *shake head*.. I calmly explained new hps are not mms configurated de and diff hp has different mtd of configurating and can be very complicating de.. i think she managed to absored abt 10% of wat i said ..wat to do, if got error msg and can't send out, means her hp not configurated correctly loh.. she tossed her handphone to her daughter and shouted that she's not going to care le... (like i care.. she dun care i can go home le leh...) so her daughter took over, finally then can get some equal frequencies le.. her daughter shld have taken over in the first place... actually honestly, i have no idea how to configure her stupid handphone.. she's using a Sony Ericsson Z1010.. very hard to configure.. who use this phone de?? *sweat*.. i asked Maureen who was helping me all along to answer this idiot's lady's stupid questions.. she brought along someone who knew loh.. so i guide the daughter to configure.. during times that need waiting time hor.. i could hear the crazy lady in the bkground asking what the shit and ask her daughter to bring the phone to the toilet.. u can imagine wat that uncivilised lady is talking abt rite??... anyway.. took me a long time to successfully guide the daughter.. great accomplishment.. the damn mms finally send out at 6.01pm..anyway.. if that damn mms can't be sent out, i would have to invite her to go to Hello! Shop where the counter can do the damn configuration right in front of their faces... i had to fill in notes and only left the office at 6.10pm.. then not suay enough, i miss my bus and waited 45 mins until i buay tahan that i took a bus to amk to take mrt.. so suay... bu ji li leh.. hopefully 2006 will be a lucky year for me..
One thing I observed while working here is that.. Singaporeans are really very very bad customers loh.. of course not all lah.. but most.. I've met really cheapskate people who will harassed the hotline at least 4 times a day to chase after a refund of $2. They really no need to work de leh.. so free siah.. Then also silly people who dunno how they play with their handphone until the phone kana lock and have to call us to get PUK code.. and people who have spoil SIM cards but insisted they didn't do anything to make the SIM card spoil.. and people who insisted they never make a single phone calls and ended up we traced 10 over calls to dunno where... actually i think I'm a ban dan customer loh.. coz I seldome call up Singtel except to terminate my auto roam and to check on my contract expiry date.. other things I access the website to check up de or just forget abt it.. Well left 2 more weeks to freedom le.. keke.. hopefully by then hor, can find job le.. taking calls every day for 8 and a half hours really can die siah...
