Morning visit Recruit Express at Raffles with my friend Patchy also known as Vanilla Ice cream in my previous blogs.. She wanted to go down and jio me along since I'm also looking for a job. Have to fill in the usual employee application form. There's two type of forms, temp. and perm. I took the perm. form and Patchy took the temp. form. Then the lady name Charlotte took our interviews together and I expressed my interest to obtain a entry-level opportunity in Marketing. She felt that it might be difficult since I dun have a marketing cert nor do I have the marketing experience. I pointed out that a marketing assistant's job task (from what i observe from the tasks requirement on advertisements) is basically similar to an admin assistant assisting the marketing team. Well I was assisting the Business Development Department at PSA Marine. Should be counted in some ways right? Anyway, there's a season for marketing jobs to be available in the market. Just so happen the season is not here yet. But this girl is quick. As we left the office, she was making phone calls to me informing me about some jobs availability. We had a light breakfast. I was talking about obtaining a graduate diploma in Marketing. I saw from the website that Marketing Institute of Singapore is offering this course. Patchy was a student from that school. I talked about visiting the school to find out more and we did. We stayed there for about an hour. After that, Patchy wanted to try SMU to see what courses are available. We had a hard time finding the administration office. With some helpless help from the arrows. The building directory of SMU is really horrible. The arrows give misleading directions making us walk round and round. There's many blocks of SMU and some located across the roads. Can you imagine a triangle block with one arrow pointing to 2 o'clock and the other arrow on the other side of the same block pointing 10 o'clock?? anyway both arrows lead us nowhere. It's only when we wanted to give up that we found the stupid block which was beside a church. Only to find that the staffs were out for lunch. Haa.. by then Charlotte had made a lot of calls with jobs offer. Then I accompany Patchy to AMK polyclinic. She wasn't feeling too well.. There i received a call from Singtel. The caller started to do a telephone interview with me, then it become a Singtel customer service survey and rounded up with a cute question, "Do you own a mobile phone?" which was a really cute question leh, then how else the caller managed to reach me? On a public phone? Anyway, an interview was arranged the next day at 10am.. Met Shuhui, Fen, Ting and Qing for dinner at Shaw Tower. Turkish dinner. My first Turkish meal, and maybe my last? I much prefer Japanese, Western and Chinese food.
